Launching Our Site
We have finally launched our website, though still very much a work in progress. Over the next few weeks and months I will be adding pictures of the work we have done since we opened. We have had a very busy wedding season(it’s not over yet!) and we want to thank all the brides and grooms that have entrusted their floral work to us. We also want to thank Mark and Lynne for making us feel so welcome in our new home at Fields On Westlake. They are wonderful to work with and I know that we will continue to benefit from this relationship. For me, being new to the trade, it has been a real learning curve, but with the help of the rest of the team I have learned alot.
This coming weekend we look forward to working with Sarah and Vladamir as they get married at Fields On Westlake this Friday and also with Erin and Ian as they get married at Huff Estate’s Winery on Saturday. They are two very different weddings with Erin choosing the more traditional style with white and pink roses while Sarah chose the more casual approach with red and yellow gerbera daisies. I will post pictures as we get them.
Meanwhile I continue maintaining the flower and vegetable gardens at the Waring House in Picton while Drew maintains the gardens and flower boxes at businesses along Wellington’s main street as well as all the village planters. It has been a challenge this year without Mother Nature’s co-operation. The sun has been very intense and the lack of rain makes our work much more difficult. Yet we persist! Hopefully the fall season will bring some refreshing rains.
In the next couple of weeks I will be ordering our greenhouse which will be built to the east of the barn. We are enlisting the help of some friends so that we hope to be have it finished and operational by the middle of October. It will be especially helpful to us in our custom seasonal container business as we now work out of the elements…the wind can be very hard on both the plants and ourselves! Look for it and stop by to say hello.
